What is the biggest obstacle Dads face in their parenting?
Not realizing their influence to build up or burn holes in their kids self-worth. Dad confers identity, just like Adam did in the Garden of Eden.
How well is the Faith being passed on today?
85% Catholic kids are rejecting it. On average, kids reject it by age 13!
Simultaneously, they are rejecting their parents in their hearts.
What role does dad play in passing on the faith?
There is a high correlation between kids embracing the Faith and dad’s faithful practice of religion. It is an even higher correlation when dad also has a warm relationship with his kids. So, a loss of faith is actually a fatherhood crisis!
What the father’s true faith is in, whether God or Money/Pleasure/Fame, that is what the kids follow. Tragically, kids who reject the Faith are rejecting their own father and end up also rejecting God the Father.
What role does mom play in passing on the faith?
She is absolutely the most influential in a dad stepping up for his kids- especially emotionally & spiritually. The quality of her relationship with dad is most determinant of his involvement in his kid’s life and their life of faith.
What can be done to help parents, especially dads, connect with their kids hearts?
Men’s groups are good to help dads refocus on getting themselves and their family to Heaven.
